Application review
Define load, temperature, environment, sealing, weight and appearance requirements.
An aluminum die casting alloy selected where corrosion resistance and pressure tightness are important.
A360 Aluminum Die Casting material review
A360 is an Al-Si-Mg alloy often considered for parts exposed to moisture or requiring improved corrosion behavior. Machining, finishing and dimensional requirements should still be reviewed with the drawing.
The alloy page should not replace the customer specification. If the drawing or end market defines a material standard, that controlled requirement takes priority.
Use this table for project planning, then confirm every critical value against the approved drawing and process plan.
| Alloy family | A360 Aluminum |
|---|---|
| Casting process | High-pressure die casting by project |
| Typical applications | Outdoor housings, Marine-adjacent equipment, Power components, Automotive parts |
| Material selection | Confirm against customer standard, load case and environment |
| Finishing | Selected according to alloy, appearance and corrosion requirement |
| Production data | 500,000+ pieces per month; 20+ die casting machines, 160T to 800T |
Each stage produces a decision or document that the next stage depends on. This keeps engineering, purchasing and production aligned.
Define load, temperature, environment, sealing, weight and appearance requirements.
Compare A360 Aluminum against alternative aluminum, zinc or magnesium options.
Check wall thickness, flow, porosity risk, machining and finishing behavior.
Confirm the material on the controlled drawing and inspection plan before production.
These answers define the normal project path and the information needed for a useful quotation.
Provide the controlled 2D/3D drawing, material requirement, annual quantity, finishing requirement, critical dimensions, target market and delivery date.
An initial feasibility discussion is possible, but the quotation and tooling scope should be based on a controlled drawing revision.
Tolerance and inspection requirements are defined from the drawing, critical features, process capability and agreed datum strategy.
Ownership, storage, maintenance and transfer terms are defined in the quotation or supply agreement before the tooling project starts.
Use the internal links to connect the material, process, industry, product and RFQ pages around one project decision.
Include the material, annual quantity, finishing requirement, target market and delivery date. The review can start from STEP, IGS, DWG, DXF, PDF or ZIP files.
